Hi, My name is Chris Morrison and I am the founder of guitar One Technologies. I have been playing guitar for sixteen years. I have seen and heard all types of musicians and music. I have found that with there being so many areas of this profession that there is one common ground that can be shared between musicians, and that is good tone!
My goal is to provide musicians with the sound that they want so that they will produce the best product they can. My story starts about six years ago when I was asked by a friend if I would go to Connecticut to see Dream Theater. It was a night that I will never forget. we got to New Haven about two hours before the doors opened so that we could secure a spot in the front to see this phenomenon called Dream Theater. While we waited in line I was amazed at the amount of musicians that where here to see the band. They were all happy to wait around for hours talking about music theory and gear. I was in heaven and didn't even know it. Once we were let into the venue my friend and I made sure to be right up front. I was Astonished by the racks of equipment that were in front of me. All glowing with such beauty.
I have to take you back a little bit. until this point I had been playing on combo amps and half stacks. I always had seen rack equipment in music stores. I would ask about it but I always seem to get the same answer, "that stuff sucks! it was big in the eighties but now no one uses it because its to complicated and not very reliable". So I never took interest. Till that night in New Haven. I stood there for two hours with that deer in head light look. watching not only a great band and guitarist, but a master switching and manipulating his amp to produce so many great sounds.
Needless to say I was hooked. I went home first thinking I have to quit playing guitar because this guy is so awesome. then it was straight to the internet to dig up as much as I could on John Pertucci's guitar system. From there I had to find out what half the equipment he used was. So I was going to manufactures web sites and calling them to find out what their product did and what it could do for me. In doing this I made quite a bit of friends that helped me understand what rack gear was all about.
with all this knowledge starting to build up in my head I felt that I had to design something to satisfy my new found interest. So I purchased my first rack and began experimenting with my sound through lots of trial and error. From these years of this practice I have built up my company and it's reputation to produce the sounds that players want.
today I work with musicians and manufactures to perfect their sound. I use my electronics background to wire and create switching systems and grounding systems that make racks reliable and easy to use. Plus I feel that I am giving a good reputation back to rack gear today. with today's technology getting the sound you want is a science and I intend to perfect that so that you will always sound your very best.
